Terms of Service
Last updated 3 August 2026
Draft — pending legal review. These terms describe how the product actually works, written from the system itself. They have not yet been through legal review and should not be relied on as legal advice.
These terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Map My Itinerary for your use of the app and this website. By creating an account, or by using the app without one, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and forms part of this agreement.
Your account
You can try parts of the app before signing up. To keep a trip, sync it or share it you need an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself and for what happens on your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. The service is not intended for children.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to do anything unlawful, or to:
- forward booking emails, upload documents or add details about another person without their agreement — if you forward a booking, you are telling us you are entitled to;
- publish or sell content that is not yours, or that infringes someone else’s copyright, trade mark or privacy;
- post content that is misleading, defamatory, hateful, or sexual content involving children;
- attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, or get around its access controls, rate limits or paid features;
- resell, sublicense or white-label the service itself, or use it to build a competing product;
- use automated systems to create accounts or to generate listings in bulk.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you create. Your itineraries, notes, checklists and uploaded documents remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.
You give us a licence to host, store, copy and display your content only so far as we need it to operate the service for you — for example, to store your trip, to read a booking email you forwarded, to show a page you chose to publish, and to keep backups. The licence lasts while your content is on the service and ends when you delete it, except for copies a buyer already holds and for backups that age out on their own schedule.
We do not use your content to advertise to other people, and we do not sell it.
Buying and selling itineraries
If you buy
Buying an itinerary gives you your own copy of the plan — the stops, dates, times, notes and costs — as a new itinerary in your account that you are free to edit however you like. Editing your copy does not change the seller’s.
The copy is for your own travel planning. You may not resell it, republish it for sale, or distribute it as your own product.
An itinerary is a plan, not a booking. It does not reserve or pay for anything, prices and opening hours change, and you are responsible for your own bookings, visas, insurance and travel decisions.
If you sell
When you list an itinerary you warrant that it is your own work, that you have the right to sell it, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights. You also warrant that it contains nothing confidential and no personal information about another person — read your notes before you list, because your notes go to the buyer.
You set the price. We take payment through Stripe, may deduct a platform fee and payment processing costs, and pass on the rest. You are responsible for your own tax. You can withdraw a listing at any time; buyers who already bought it keep their copy.
We can remove a listing that appears to break these terms or the law.
Subscriptions and lifetime access
Some features are paid. You can pay as a subscription or as a one-off lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency, and are set by the Apple App Store or Google Play for your region.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. Cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings, not in our app — the store manages the billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the paid features until the period you have already paid for runs out.
A lifetime purchase is a one-off payment that unlocks the paid features for as long as we offer the app, on the platform you bought it on. It is not a promise that the service will run forever, and it does not cover a separate product we might launch later. If we ever have to shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your trips out.
We may change what is included in a paid plan. If a change materially reduces what you are paying for, we will tell you before it takes effect.
Refunds
Our digital products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
Beyond that, a purchased itinerary is a digital product you receive immediately. We refund it where it is faulty, not as described, or otherwise fails a consumer guarantee. To ask, email support@mapmyitinerary.com with what you bought and what was wrong.
Subscriptions and lifetime unlocks bought inside the app are billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us. Those refunds are handled under the store’s own process, because the store took the payment. Your consumer guarantees still apply.
Affiliate links
Some booking links in the app are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you book through one. It costs you nothing extra and it does not change which suggestions you see. Anything you book is a contract between you and that provider, on their terms, not ours.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of faults. Features can change, and details read out of a forwarded booking email are extracted automatically and can be wrong — check them against the booking itself before you rely on them.
Our goods and services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms limits or excludes them. Subject to those guarantees, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for travel costs arising from a missed, cancelled or incorrectly recorded booking. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.
Ending your use of the service
You can stop at any time by deleting your account in the app, under Profile then Settings. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law. If we close your account for something other than a breach, we will refund any unused portion of a subscription you have already paid for.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we move the date at the top, and we will tell you in the app or by email before a change that materially affects you takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you and we each submit to the courts of Australia. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest keeps working.
